Well, the child is weaned. The waist is beginning to narrow. The illnesses of winter are on their way out the door. The brain and body have been working together and I've wound up with the motivation to eat less at meals, and select what I eat more wisely. I haven't eaten out much at all over the past month or so, and when I have, it's almost never been fast food. I'm feeling like change is in the air. Healthy change.
Yes, I think it's time for something I've been thinking of doing for a long time. Some of you may think I'm nuts. Some may be skeptical and want to write all sorts of comments about how silly this sounds. Some of you may decide to try it too.
The Master Cleanser.
Ryan and I have a friend who's done it and had very interesting stories to tell. Some gross, some hilarious, but all of them highly exciting. I wanted to do it months ago, but was still nursing and didn't want to disrupt that little harmonious relationship. But now. Now is the time.
I haven't decided yet how much I'm going to blog about it, seeing as it may be a little more information than most of you want to hear, but perhaps, just maybe, I'll give you little tidbits and hints of how it's going.
I haven't got all the info yet. I need to do some more reading. But as far as I understand it, it's a strict diet for as short as a few days to as long as a couple weeks. One drinks a special lemonade-type concoction throughout the day, and also does "saline flushes" and fun stuff like that. Rumour has it, you feel rotten for the first couple days, then you start feeling really REALLY great. Whether or not the rumours are true, who knows....but I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Wish me luck on my endeavour!

Let me know how it goes. No info is too much info for me! I've felt like doing that a few times, but never have (and obviously won't for a long time now).
Your system actually retoxifies within a matter of days if you return to normal eating, unless you go full-stop on coffee or alcohol or major sodium (or whatever your diet ailment might be) forever and ever afterward, too.
That, and I don't know anyone who has kept weight off as a result of the diet:). So hopefully that's not your aim.
Stanley Burroughs makes a ton of unsubstantiated claims in the MC book, too.
I'd suggest doing it for less time than more, and transitioning in and out of the cleanse slowly. Fasts lasting longer than 3 days should never be done without medical supervision (says my doc.)
Just a little love, there. Take care of you! No starving!
Hey Laura, that's great that you're doing the Master Cleanser. I think it's so good for you now and then... just be careful when you start, because you kind of feel like you have lots of energy because the lemonade drink is so energizing... and you may try and do something spectacular in the first few days like going to the gym, or... maybe GOING SKATEBOARDING, perhaps. But please... DON'T DO IT!
-from someone who's had road-rash on their chest. Uh huh. That's right. And YES, I AM a woman! OW.
