40+2
40+2. That's super cool doula-lingo for "40 weeks and 2 days". Yeah. I'm overdue. Yeah, I know I look huge. Yeah, everyone seems to want to "let me know" that even though I'm completely aware of it. Fun times!!
This is the week that will help me be an even better doula!! This is the week I need to remember when I am sitting listening to a very overly pregnant client who is complaining about how miserable she feels, how she hates people constantly talking about her appearance, about how huge she looks, about how "it looks like the baby is about to fall out!". I will listen and remember and sympathize, and I'll remind her what I keep trying to remind myself.
It will all be over soon. In fact, it will all begin soon! That's a much more accurate description, isn't it? Because what do we women do? We feel horrible, whether it be because of impatience, discomfort, or pain, and then as soon as that baby is out we COMPLETELY FORGET ABOUT IT. It's funny. In a few days (I hope!) I'll be so beyond this state that I won't even give it a second thought!
So, in light of that happy future, I'll share some lovely pictures of the past while. Enjoy!

That last pic of Pito...she looks like someone but I just can't put my finger on it...one of us as a kid...you? Teresa? Maybe a bit of all of us?

I can't wait to see if this little one is a boy or a girl. And just to let you know...you were already pretty amazing in the wait without having gone through this recently. You were there for me and I felt totally supported. You're a great doula...I want to have a third just so you can be our doula again!
