Having Plava on my hip, I thought, "What a neat idea to get something that she would like!"
So I bought this.

As I was leaving the store, I was hit with one thought. "I just bought a key with a picture of a cat on it. What the heck has happened to me?"
I was struck by how so much of my thinking, planning and moment to moment choices are based on Plava. Isn't it funny how life shifts like that when you have a kid? I used to think that I didn't want it to happen when I had a baby, but the truth is, it's natural, and actually enjoyable. I'm happy to take her into consideration in most things. And I'm certainly happy to buy a ridiculous looking key for her happiness.
Dorky? Yup. Nerdy? You bet. Embarrassed? Not a bit.
And so you aren't left wondering, she loves it.

It's okay. I have a key with flowers on it and I don't even have a child! It just makes me happy, so I got it! :)
I don't think that's silly at all!
Happy kid = happy mom!
Maybe when I have kids it'll give me the excuse to get one too!
I agree. I always said I was going to be one of those people who didn't change the way she did certain things just because I have kids, but now that I do, I find I enjoy choosing this or that based on whether my boys will like it.
