I'm back! I'm alive! I'm exhausted.
It's Monday. The Monday after the big craft fair - Harmony Arts Festival. Whew! What a lot of work that was. I feel like I've been sewing and stressing and planning for months! Oh wait...I have.
So....how did it go, you ask?
Well, I'm a little disappointed in how it went, actually. I didn't sell a whole lot. I sold some, and more than covered my table expense, but I was really expecting to do better. But hey, I met some nice artists, I gave away heaps of business cards, and I actually survived three days stuck in a small tent, one of which I had Pito with me the whole day! (That's 10 hours, people. 10 HOURS.)
So, needless to say, I'm pretty darn tired today. I did get a nap though, and am happy that my body seems to just automatically wake up after 1/2 an hour and feel pretty refreshed.
Other news? Plava turned 3!! (I'll be posting some birthday pictures shortly.)
Pito is crawling!!
MAJOR MILESTONES.
Let me just say something about Pito crawling. Yes. Ahem. When PLAVA learned to crawl, she was 11 and a half months old. She could understand the word "no" and generally what it meant. She could listen to my words and sort of "get it". She could even say a few words herself. Pito, on the other hand, is 8 and a half months old. She doesn't understand the word "no", and I fear it might be a while before she does. Suddenly I understand why parents go buck wild and baby-proof their homes, putting all sorts of locks and plastic thingies on toilets, drawers, doors, cupboards and fridges. Also? I understand the need for baby gates. Pito, I fear, unlike her big sister, may just try and crawl down the stairs. Little turkey.
Anyway, all this and I haven't even said how proud of her I am! It's wonderful to see her become mobile! I can certainly say that she seems a heck of a lot happier. She was so frustrated with not being able to get places that she screamed and screamed throughout the day any time I'd put her down and go into another room. When she first started crawling, it was really slow and it seemed to irritate her even more. She'd be moving along slowly, screaming the whole way. It was actually really funny, except that she was truly frustrated and I felt a little bad. Now, though, although she hasn't gotten that fast yet, she has figured out the classic hand-knee, hand-knee rhythm and is getting places at a much more consistent pace. I know it will only be a couple days before she's making some good time across the floor and chasing big Plava down.
Aaaah, babies. Gotta love them. Pito makes me feel like I've never done this before. She's so different from Plava. So much for knowing what to expect the second time 'round! The good thing, though, is that I know that I can get through the tough times. Those sleepless nights aren't going to do me in. No, they will pass, and I will survive and once again feel like a normal human being again. Looking forward to that!!
Stay tuned for birthday pictures!! Thanks for reading.
